Description

Every BHAKTA bottle carries a year, not an age statement. This one was distilled from a single harvest in 1985, laid down in oak, and left to the slow work of Gascon cellars until it was ready, years later, to be bottled exactly as it came out of the cask.

Tasting Notes
Aspect Deep amber orange.
Nose Dried fruits like sultanas and raisins, some candied orange and chocolate coated fruits like Florentines. Hazelnuts and almonds, leaning to marzipan and praline. Nutmeg and caramel.
Palate Sweet and spicy sensation to start with then the tannins appear that are mellow and well integrated. Overriding soft sweetness with spicy notes invade the mouth giving some dryness. Stone fruits like plums and prunes, dried apricots, combine with roasted nuts and sesame seeds on the finish that is persistent and dry.

Media Reviews

“In this vintage paradigm, every release is special, limited in quantity — there’s only so much of any given spirit made in any given year.”
“You don’t have to love brandy to love this. . . Terrific sipping and thus an epic preview of things to come from the nascent producer.”
“The World’s Best Bourbon.”
