Description

Every BHAKTA bottle carries a year, not an age statement. This one was distilled from a single harvest in 1984, laid down in oak, and left to the slow work of Gascon cellars until it was ready, years later, to be bottled exactly as it came out of the cask.

Tasting Notes

Aspect Pale amber color that is quite light so probably not been in new oak for long.

Nose An interesting nose of freshly sawn oak and fresh fruits like peaches and apricots. Slightly floral, like jasmine, and herbaceous. Freshly cut straw, chaff, and vanilla.

Palate Explosion of flavors and power on the attack that is quickly tamed. Lots of zingy, fresh fruit and flowers follow. Spices of cinnamon, pepper, mace. Oak is present, yet very discreet. Dry tannins, yet the fruit is predominant. Some dried fruits mingle. Light, spicy, and packs a punch with each tasting. Very long-lasting finish.
