Description

Every BHAKTA bottle carries a year, not an age statement. This one was distilled from a single harvest in 1988, laid down in oak, and left to the slow work of Gascon cellars until it was ready, years later, to be bottled exactly as it came out of the cask.

Tasting Notes
Aspect Light golden orange.
Nose Very appealing and surprising nose that is extremely delicate and approachable. Fresh fruit and flowers like white fruit blossom. Elegant with vanilla and light oak notes with sweet perfume. Complex and very aromatic. Candy softness with rose petals.
Palate Equally delightful in the mouth with a bold attack and certainly no shrinking violet, yet it has a wide palette of complex aromas to discover. A touch of rancio with more orange essence and tannins that gently coat the palate without any dryness. Lovely body that is uplifting and bright. Well-balanced with soft spices like nutmeg and floral notes remain throughout the tasting. Lovely, long, perfumed finish.

Archaeologists uncover Shakespeare’s original Globe Theatre in London, Stephen Hawking publishes A Brief History Of Time, Dell Computer incorporates, and Nickelodeon launches Nick Jr. Massachusetts Governor Michael Dukakis is nominated as the Democratic candidate for president. The first computer worm—known as “The Morris Worm”—is launched from MIT (and distributed on the Internet). Good Morning Vietnam, Beetlejuice, and Who Framed Roger Rabbit are among the year’s top films. “Faith” by George Michael, “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” by Guns N’ Roses, and “Never Gonna Give You Up” by Rick Astley are the year’s top singles. Microsoft Office is introduced.

Media Reviews

“In this vintage paradigm, every release is special, limited in quantity — there’s only so much of any given spirit made in any given year.”
“You don’t have to love brandy to love this. . . Terrific sipping and thus an epic preview of things to come from the nascent producer.”
“The World’s Best Bourbon.”
