Description

Every BHAKTA bottle carries a year, not an age statement. This one was distilled from a single harvest in 1979, laid down in oak, and left to the slow work of Gascon cellars until it was ready, years later, to be bottled exactly as it came out of the cask.

Tasting Notes
Aspect Deep orangey brown.
Nose Fruity nose with hints of sherry and madeira, plum jam, damsons, wet leaves, moss, earth, and leafing through old books. Squashed overripe apples and pears, undergrowth.
Palate Silky texture with very tasty. Ample mouthfeel. Round, with very present oak that is a little dry, with slight bitterness. Spicy to begin with, then replaced with dry tannins. Finish is peppery and warming with dry notes.

Media Reviews

“In this vintage paradigm, every release is special, limited in quantity — there’s only so much of any given spirit made in any given year.”
“You don’t have to love brandy to love this. . . Terrific sipping and thus an epic preview of things to come from the nascent producer.”
“The World’s Best Bourbon.”
