Description

Every BHAKTA bottle carries a year, not an age statement. This one was distilled from a single harvest in 1973, laid down in oak, and left to the slow work of Gascon cellars until it was ready, years later, to be bottled exactly as it came out of the cask.

Tasting Notes
Aspect Deep browny orange.
Nose Stewed ripe fruits with brown sugar. Baked apples with cinnamon. Old library books with leather covers. Parchment. Touch of burnt sugar.
Palate Quite a sweet attack with full mouth feel and plenty of vigor. Soft spices like cinnamon and nutmeg topped with white pepper. Sweetness persists with mellow tannins that are quite dry. Very rounded and well-balanced. Dark stone fruits and macerated raisins. Very pleasant long finish with notes of oak.

The World Trade Center officially opens; so too does Chicago’s Sears Tower—now the world’s tallest building. CBS sells the New York Yankees to a group led by George Steinbrenner. Pioneer 10 sends back the first close-up images of Jupiter. In Roe v. Wade, the US Supreme Court overturns state bans on abortion. Meanwhile, televised hearings begin in the Watergate scandal. Vice President Spiro Agnew resigns, replaced by Gerald Ford. An Elvis Presley concert in Hawaii is the first telecast by an entertainer with higher ratings than the moon landings. Monica Lewinsky is born, along with Google founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page.
