Description

Every BHAKTA bottle carries a year, not an age statement. This one was distilled from a single harvest in 1972, laid down in oak, and left to the slow work of Gascon cellars until it was ready, years later, to be bottled exactly as it came out of the cask.

Tasting Notes

Aspect Rich, dark amber.

Nose Notes of toasted hazelnuts and almonds, dark chocolate-coated fruit, thick vanilla custard, prune stones. Prunes soaked in Armagnac. Spiced oranges, fat black cherries soaked in Armagnac. Fruit cake with marzipan.

Palate Explosive attack with breath-stopping power. Initial strength drops off quite quickly to reveal quite a dry sensation enveloped in rich dried fruits like macerated raisins. Big oak presence with perfectly balanced striking tannins. A long, fruity finish with just the right amount of aging and oak. For the brave and fearless rather than the faint-hearted!
